Charles Clarke is a professional photographer with a background in anthropology and experience in sculpture and the fine arts. He captures exceptional visual stories about what and how we live.
Growing up, I often found myself in front of a disposable point-and-shoot camera, whether because of that or my lack of development of art skills. I wound up with my first analog camera in a darkroom when I reached high school, and though short-lived, it left an impression. I wouldn’t pick up a camera in any meaningful sense until I got out of the Army. With my new freedom and Costco DSLR kit, I spend time traveling and learning to photograph. Knowing I wanted to create this experience caused me to transition to using my GI Bill to study photography and develop my voice and a love for the craft. While on this photographic journey, I have been fortunate to have my work hanging in museum shows, pieces are part of the photographic collection at Cabrillo College, and my work has appeared in print. When not pursuing my love for creatively compelling images, I like to read manga and watch anime, play 4x games, and enjoy cinema.
